Evaluation of DFID’s Efforts to Eliminate Violence Against Women and Girls
For this ICAI review, Agulhas assessed UK aid’s contribution to tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG) in developing countries. The review, led by Peter Grant, found that DFID demonstrated strong global policy leadership, through initiatives such as the 2014 Girl Summit, and has made a significant contribution to knowledge and evidence on preventing abuse, including on global challenges such as child marriage. The review also raises concerns over the size of DFID’s portfolio that seems too small compared to the scale of the challenge and recommends DFID to scale up its work in this area and integrate VAWG into other programming areas.
