Theodora Yeung

Manager

Theodora is one of Agulhas’ senior analysts, with a keen interest in humanitarian affairs, education, refugee issues and the Global South. She assists in research and analysis across Agulhas’ portfolio of reviews, including the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI). Her latest ICAI assignments include ‘Youth Employment in the Middle East and North Africa’, ‘UK’s aid to China’, and ‘Aligning UK ODA with the Paris Agreement’.

Theodora is helping Agulhas to build its portfolio in the MENA region. She was a team member for the the Jordan Compact Monitoring and Assessment assignment and UN Jordan Common Country Analysis.  With a background in Hong Kong/China, Theodora is keen to bring the Asian voice to Agulhas.


Before joining Agulhas, Theodora worked in fundraising, advocacy, volunteer and donors management in an INGO based in Hong Kong and also spent some time in China, Nepal and Vietnam.

She holds a BSocSci in Sociology from the University of Hong Kong and an MSc in International Development from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. In her spare time in Birmingham, she volunteered for Cancer Research UK and Oxfam Great Britain. She speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.


Key work skills

Theodora’s thematic interests include humanitarian aid, education, and children’s rights. She is also interested in the role of China as a key stakeholder in international development.

Other interests

While currently living in London, Theodora seizes every opportunity to get out of London, either hiking within the UK or taking a step further – travelling or backpacking! Spending time in cafes and having good food are also some of her favourite pastimes.
