Harriet Gibson

Harriet has a background in human rights and international development in fragile and conflict-affected states (FCAS) and is an experienced researcher and evaluator. She has particular experience and expertise on the Middle East and North Africa.

Having begun working in the international development and humanitarian fields 11 years ago, implementing and managing projects, Harriet now provides specialised research or MEL services as an independent consultant. She has worked for a variety of organisations, from grassroots NGOs in Palestine, to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Lebanon, to global private sector consultancies, and for a range of clients including: UK FCO, DFID, European Union, USAID, US State Department, The Tony Blair Foundation, The AgaKhan Foundation and Norwegian Church Aid. She has also worked on three ICAI Reviews including The UK’s approach to funding the UN humanitarian system. Harriet has collaborated with Agulhas several times and, as well as her research and evaluation experience, brings language skills in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
