Monitoring and Evaluation
Agulhas provides the full range of monitoring and evaluation services to help our clients increase their impact, effectiveness and value for money, and inform strategy formulation and the implementation of organisational plans. We have extensive experience establishing robust measures of impact, incisive evaluation questions and designing integrated monitoring systems with a strong focus on continous learning. Our approach combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies, focusing on evidence-based analysis to assess performance and progress towards client goals. We draw on our broad methodological toolkit to collect and analyse evidence that provides a deep understanding of policies, practice and performance, including ‘what works’ in international development.
Agulhas has a substantial track record in delivering high quality, complex evaluations and designing robust accountability instruments. We have been the lead service provider to the UK’s Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) and prepared in excess of 100 reports, probing the effectiveness and value for money of the UK’s aid programming. These are multifaceted, complex reviews that involve significant research across a broad range of development topics.
We have also undertaken numerous strategic reviews of several multilateral organisations as a service provider to the Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN).
